Central Market will hold its Feast of Sharing holiday celebration from 3-9 p.m. on Nov. 29 at the Fair Park Automotive Building in Dallas, Texas.
The event is a free and is open to people of all ages. The celebration includes a Texas-style holiday dinner. H-E-B/Central Market is prepared to serve up to 10,000 people during the four-hour event.
In addition, the celebration includes a family and community services area with more than 40 local agencies and social services, kid’s zone with Santa and Mrs. Claus and a lineup of local musical entertainment. This event is the largest of its kind in the metroplex.
Central Market’s parent company, H-E-B, started Feast of Sharing 33 years ago in Laredo and Corpus Christi, Texas. The event is one of 35 dinners the company will hold throughout Texas and Mexico in December, serving more than 340,000 people.
The mobile kitchen will prepare the following Texas-style meal: 2,500 pounds of sliced brisket, 2,000 pounds of sausage, 2,500 pounds of potato salad, 2,200 pounds of beans, 10,000 dinner rolls and 1,250 apple pies.
Guests are served by a wait staff of volunteers bringing meals to the tables. More than 600 volunteers will be on hand to dish up and serve the dinners, which will be prepared in a mobile kitchen. A lineup of live music will add to the atmosphere, including the Berkner High School drum line, Blue Lisa, Vertical Fitness (aerialist), David Whiteman Band and the Emerald City All Stars.
