Fresh Value, a Birmingham, Alabama-based supermarket chain, will debut a new location with a grand opening ceremony Nov. 2 in Montgomery, Alabama.
The festivities will begin with a ribbon-cutting in front of the renovated store at 2020 East South Blvd., formerly home to Vowel’s Cash Saver. The first 100 customers in the store Nov. 2-4 will receive a free bag of groceries.
“We are looking forward to bringing an affordable shopping solution to Montgomery,” said Gerry D’Alessandro, owner. “There are a lot of great things happening in Montgomery, and we are honored to have the opportunity to serve this community.”
The new location will further the chain’s plans to expand its footprint across the state. The store will bring in 75 new jobs to the community. Fresh Value grocery stores follow a cost plus model of operation.
“Fresh Value’s cost plus model is about as simple as it sounds. We set shelf pricing for every item in the store at our cost and simply add 10 percent to the total at checkout to cover our operating expenses. This concept will save you money weekly on thousands of grocery items,” said Terry Stanley, COO.
The location’s focus will be on providing the community with an expanded meat department with in-house butchers and a larger produce department offering fresh local produce. Fresh Value offers a one-stop shop for customers to find items from the everyday essentials to specialty items from around the world.
“We are your local community connection for high quality foods, friendly service and low prices,” D’Alessandro said.
Fresh Value is locally-owned and -operated supermarket, operating 11 locations in Alabama.
