Reston, Virginia-based StarKist Co. has named Chae-Ung Um the new co-president and CEO.
Um joins StarKist from LG Electronics, where he was corporate SVP of procurement strategy, digital procurement transformation and general procurement. Um’s first day will be Nov. 1, and he will become president and CEO of StarKist on Jan. 1, 2023.
Andrew Choe will continue to serve as president and CEO until Dec. 31, and will work with Um to ensure a smooth transition through the end of the year. Choe has been president and CEO since November of 2014.
StarKist Co. is a socially responsible company that empowers people to live a healthy lifestyle by providing convenient proteins. An industry innovator, StarKist was the first brand to introduce single-serve pouch products, which include StarKist Tuna Creations, Salmon Creations and Chicken Creations.
The company recently released its StarKist Smart Bowls, featuring seasoned grains and vegetables with wild–caught tuna, all in a single-serve pouch.
