Oxnard, California-based Westfalia Fruit Group will attend the IFPA Global Produce & Floral Show Oct. 27-29.
Attendees can visit Westfalia’s booth to meet and learn more about the company, and to discuss the global footprint that brings avocados and avocado products to U.S. grocery stores. Westfalia colleagues based locally in the U.S. will be available, as well as representatives from its growing areas across Peru, Chile and Colombia.
“The Westfalia team is excited to showcase our innovative portfolio of global avocado products in Orlando,” said Raina Nelson, president and CEO. “We’ll be sampling our avocado oil in the booth, and displaying our unique nut-based oils, plant-based spreads and other avocado-centric value-added products.”
In addition to fresh avocados, Westfalia will display a suite of value-added products to highlight how its research and development provides new ways to drive market differentiation for U.S. customers.
“We consciously invest in and foster innovation – from seed and beyond,” said Alk Brand, group CEO.
“Our innovation can be seen through the value-added products we have available around the globe. Not only are we delighting customers, but we are also successfully reducing inputs, food waste and illustrating our commitment to protecting the health of the environment in the most sustainable way possible. At the IFPA Floral & Produce Global Show, we are proud to be able to show attendees the variety of products we offer worldwide.”
As part of Westfalia’s focus on driving environmental responsibility, key targets have been defined and include reducing water usage by 50 percent by 2030, as well as widely using recyclable materials. By 2049, it will have recovered its lifetime carbon, meaning Westfalia will begin the next 100 years as it started in 1949. These targets will be achievable by using the natural resources available and ensuring that environmental responsibility is part of Westfalia’s business.
