Miami, Florida-based Blue Star Foods has announced the extension of two partnerships with the company.
Blue Star has signed a one-year extension to its multi-year supply contract with the Sysco Corporation. The Bid Award Purchase Agreement became effective in July and it is for the purchase of Blue Star’s brands, such as Blue Star, Pacifika and Good Stuff Mexican Crab meat.
Sysco Foods is the world’s largest broadline food distributor with more than 600,000 clients in a wide array of fields. The company operates about 330 distribution facilities worldwide and provides service to more than 90 countries.
“We’ve had this relationship with Sysco for the last several years, and are excited to renew the contract with them to continue being a trusted supply partner,” said John Keeler, chairman and CEO of Blue Star Foods.
“We supply crab meat to some of the largest food retailers and high-end restaurant chains in the country because of our reputation of bringing safe, sustainable and fresh marine protein to the marketplace. We work hard to be known as a trusted and reliable partner for our customers, and appreciate the trust that a company as well-known as Sysco has placed in us.”
Blue Star Foods also recently signed a multi-year extension to its multi-year supply contract with privately-held Avendra. The Bid Award Purchase Agreement took effect in August and it is for purchase and distribution of the company’s Blue Star crab meat branded products.
Avendra is a North American hospitality procurement services provider, working with more than 8,500 customers. Through Avendra, Blue Star products get placed into brand-name hotels and resorts, convention centers, country clubs and airports throughout the U.S.
“We’ve been working with Avendra for close to 16 years, and pleased that they have extended their contract with us,” Keeler said. “This multi-year renewal continues to be part of the company’s climb back to pre-pandemic levels of revenue in the platform sustainable crab-meat business.”
