505 Southwestern, together with Coca-Cola and the Denver Broncos, will host a tailgate party event featuring a large portable green chile roaster before the first two regular-season games at Empower Field beginning Sept. 18.
Admission to this event is free and attendees will enjoy fresh-roasted Hatch Valley green chile, Coca-Cola products and samples of green chile nachos. The tailgate event is open to the public and will take place next to the Mane Street tailgating area on the south side of the stadium.
“Colorado loves fresh, flame-roasted green chiles, and we’re proud to offer this unique tailgate experience for Broncos fans,” said Sam Carson, president of 505 Southwestern. “We are certain we’ll be the only game in the country with this sort of experience.”
At more than 10 feet tall, the world’s largest portable chile roaster can roast 2,500 pounds of green chile every hour.
505 Southwestern’s sister brand, Young Guns, will operate the chile roaster and will deliver fresh green chiles from the Hatch Valley region of New Mexico. “My family has been growing green chiles in Hatch for five generations, and we’re proud to bring this unique experience to Denver,” said Chris Franzoy, president of Young Guns.
Rob Holland, executive chairman of the company, added, “For five straight seasons, 505 Southwestern has been an official partner of the Denver Broncos and we’ve brought our world famous green chile, salsa and chips to fans inside and outside of the stadium. We are excited to take our creativity with the Broncos and Coca-Cola to the next level with this fan experience.”
Coca-Cola’s Mobile Music Tailgate experience will also attend with a 100 percent solar=powered interactive boombox built out of a recycled shipping container. The unit itself has a rooftop deck, professional DJ equipment, neon photo booth and oversized cornhole boards. Fans can also sample Coca-Cola Zero Sugar, as well as the newest Coke Creation, Dreamworld.
505 Southwestern’s core lineup includes shelf stable salsas, sauces and flame-roasted green chile, as well as frozen stews and diced green chile. 505 Southwestern formed the 505 Southwestern-New Mexico True Scholars program in conjunction with the State of New Mexico to support a future generation of farmers through its scholarship program. The company is based near Denver, with its manufacturing headquarters in New Mexico.
