Chicago-based Produce Alliance has promoted its longtime leader of food safety, Barbara Hulick, to VP of food safety.
Hulick is a highly acclaimed industry leader in the development and advancement of food safety ideology and practices within the produce industry. She has been a leader at Produce Alliance since joining the company in 2016 and has been instrumental in constructing the food safety advancements that have elevated Produce Alliance’s service to all of its customers. Hulick has been focused on Produce Alliance’s top 50 end users in the food service space.
In her new role, Hulick will continue to lead Produce Alliance in ensuring that all customers are the beneficiaries of new and innovative policies, procedures and business constructs that capitalize on her regulatory knowledge, understanding of how to optimize implementation of all such new developments and creating a bond between the legal and regulatory aspects of food safety and the pragmatic realities of operating growing, shipping, packing, distribution and back of house food service operations.
Produce Alliance will continue to partner with its parent entity Buyers Edge Platform and its baseline food safety services that capitalize on technology advancements in the implementation of day-to-day food safety related functions while Hulick will continue her practice to support ongoing development at some of the industry’s most innovative and growth minded partners and customers of Produce Alliance.
Hulick began her journey to being a thought leader in the food safety sector when she became a plant manager at Country Fresh in 2008, eventually taking the helm as the director of food service and product improvement at Country Fresh.
