As the official beer sponsor of UTSA Athletics, Bud Light is featuring the Roadrunners’ battle cry “Birds Up” on limited-edition packages for this season. The 16-ounce Bud Light aluminum bottles can be found at the Alamodome on game day and additional packages will be available at bars, restaurants and on grocery and convenience store shelves throughout San Antonio.

“We are grateful for the support of Bud Light and Silver Eagle Beverages in creating this UTSA-branded bottle that is now available throughout the San Antonio area,” said Lisa Campos, UTSA VP for intercollegiate athletics and athletic director. “This is an exciting time to be a Roadrunner, and we can’t wait to kick off football season off this weekend.”

UTSA is one of four universities in Texas to receive special packaging, with less than 30 universities chosen nationwide.

“Silver Eagle Beverages shares San Antonio’s enthusiasm for a new season of Roadrunner football, and we are excited to help make game day memorable for fans, students and alumni,” said John L. Nau III, chairman and CEO of Silver Eagle Beverages. “Whether you are tailgating at the Alamodome, catching the game at a bar or heading to a friend’s house to watch the game, we encourage all fans to plan ahead for a safe ride home.”

Anheuser-Busch, Silver Eagle Beverages and UTSA Athletics share a dedication to educating and encouraging fans to drink responsibly. In support of those efforts, Anheuser-Busch will bring its “Decide to Ride” campaign to game days, urging fans to plan ahead for a safe ride home. Fans are encouraged to use Uber or have another safe ride plan. If using Uber, fans can enter promo code UTSARIDE for $5 off their rides, while supplies last.

Silver Eagle Beverages is one of the largest Anheuser-Busch distributors in the U.S. More than 500 employees service a territory that includes Bexar County and extends to more than 12 additional counties in southwest Texas. Silver Eagle Beverages’ footprint covers 18,481 square miles from Wilson County to Val Verde County on the state border. The company distributes a broad selection of domestic and import brands, national and local craft beers, and several non-alcohol beverages and waters.
