Anaheim, California-based Northgate González Market suppliers and sponsors recently raised more than $700,000 to help local families with education and wellness initiatives at the 13th Annual Familia Gonzalez Reynoso Foundation Golf Tournament.
About 336 golfers participated in the event, which was held at the Pelican Hill Golf Club in Newport Beach, with the title sponsorship from Anheuser Busch and Constellation Brands. Other sponsors included Reyes Coca-Cola Bottling Company, MCT Companies, and KDRP/7UP.
“Our family is grateful for all the sponsors and players who gave so generously to help local families in need of services,” said Miguel Gonzalez, co-president. “My mother, Doña Teresa, and my father set the high standard for all of our family to always give back to the communities in which we serve. Their legacy lives on through the Foundation’s charitable work.”
Established in 2002, the Familia Gonzalez Reynoso Foundation honors the legacy of the late Don Miguel Gonzalez, owner and founder of Northgate González Market, by supporting organizations involved with higher education, cancer support groups, schools, orphanages, and scholarships and grants to individuals.
Northgate González Market is a family-owned independent grocery chain that has been operating in four California counties (Los Angeles, San Diego, Orange and Riverside) for 41 years and has 41 locations. The stores primarily serve Hispanic and moderate to low-income communities.
