Salisbury, North Carolina-based Food Lion Feeds is donating $100,000 to A Touch of the Father’s Love Ministry and Food Pantry to help the Spring Hope, North Carolina-based organization purchase a new facility and support more people.
“The services provided by A Touch of the Father’s Love are integral to our neighbors in Nash County, so we jumped at the opportunity to support our community partner,” said Trish Bednarz, director of operations, Food Lion. “Food Lion Feeds’ investment for A Touch of the Father’s Love new location will benefit the area for years to come.”
According to A Touch of the Father’s Love, its food pantry addresses a critical need in Nash County, where more than 17 percent of families are food insecure and approximately 55 percent of children receive free or reduced school lunches. The food pantry distributed over 2 million pounds of food in 2021, helping feed more than 188,000 people.
“Food Lion Feeds is stepping up to support this ministry with a substantial gift to help purchase a permanent home for us. It feels amazing to know that the company believes in the mission and vision of A Touch of the Father’s Love,” said April Baker, executive director, A Touch of the Father’s Love. “With their support, we can bridge the gap on hunger in our communities. This gift will have tremendous rewards for many years to come.”
