Southeastern Grocers Inc. plans to continue its Florida expansion in 2023. The grocer will open a Winn-Dixie at 999 University Blvd. in Jacksonville to serve the College Park community.
“We are always looking to better serve our customers, and the new College Park Winn-Dixie store presents an exciting opportunity for us to expand in our hometown. We plan to make a significant investment in the new store and provide more than 100 job opportunities to enrich the revitalization of the Arlington community and ensure our new customers receive remarkable service,” said Anthony Hucker, president and CEO of Southeastern Grocers.
SEG has renewed more than 70 percent of all stores throughout the grocer’s Southeast footprint to enhance the shopping experience for its customers. This latest opening will continue SEG’s expansion throughout Florida, including the recent debut of the Westlake Winn-Dixie, following grand opening celebrations in St. Augustine Shores and Viera in 2021.
Additionally, SEG opened eight new Winn-Dixie stores in 2020 in Boynton Beach, Fort Myers, Gainesville, Lakewood Ranch, Lake Mary, West Melbourne and two locations in Jacksonville. Last fall, the grocer also debuted its new stand-alone WDs Wine, Beer and Liquor in Jacksonville. The concept is the first location in SEG’s Southeast footprint and serves as a destination for fine wine, craft beer and quality liquor, with a wide range of premium products for entertaining and eating at home.
