Southeastern Grocers, parent company of Winn-Dixie, opened its newest Winn-Dixie location on March 2 in Westlake, Florida.
The new Winn-Dixie store, located in the Grove Market Shopping Center at 5060 Seminole Pratt Whitney Road, will provide customers with a localized shopping experience. The grocer uses a specialized approach to provide a wide product selection and additional jobs and opportunities for community members.
The Westlake store will feature offerings, such as a wide range of specialty food selections for various dietary preferences throughout the store including an expanded offering of organic, natural and gluten-free options.
The new Winn-Dixie store also features an in-store pharmacy and a consultation room for private immunizations, including the COVID-19 vaccine. The store’s liquor area will feature an in-store wine chiller.
Winn-Dixie celebrated with several days of activities and giveaways for customers and will continue to celebrate with the community throughout the year.
The grand opening event featured a ribbon cutting and check presentation for $12,000 to three local schools to give back and support future leaders. The first 500 customers received a mystery gift card ranging between $5 and $500 and the first 100 also received a Winn-Dixie cutting board.
Other activities throughout grand opening day included live entertainment by Lance Biddle and the 301 Travelers, prize wheel giveaways, live cooking demonstrations and a meet-and-greet with football Hall of Famer, Terrell Davis.
