San Bernardino, California-based Stater Bros. Markets has announced plans to build a new store at Pine Avenue and Main Street in Chino, California. The store will anchor the Town Center at the Preserve in Chino, developed by Lewis Retail Centers.
The future supermarket will be 46,109 square feet and will feature full-service meat, seafood, service deli and bakery departments, a selection of fresh and healthy offerings, spacious aisles and a décor scheme reflective of the local community. In addition, the store will implement eco-friendly practices such as the use of energy-efficient equipment and energy-saving LED lighting.
The new store, marking the company’s third location in Chino, will bring 150 new jobs with career growth and development opportunities to the area.
“We are extremely pleased to bring our tradition of quality, value and service to the community of Chino,” said Pete Van Helden, Stater Bros. CEO. “Our fresh departments, healthy food offerings and convenient meal solutions will be a perfect fit for shoppers who live and work in Chino and the surrounding areas.”
Lewis Retail Centers plans to begin construction this summer, with Stater Bros. expecting to break ground in the late summer 2023 and opening in late winter 2023.
“We are very excited that Stater Bros. Markets will anchor the Town Center at The Preserve. The new store will bring much-needed convenience to the surrounding community where the population continues to grow,” said Ken Caron, SVP of commercial development, noting that roughly 7,000 housing units are under development in the area. “Once complete, the modern community center will include a vibrant Main Street to include restaurants, shops, apartments and office space.”
Stater Bros. has more than 170 stores and 18,000 employees. The company says it lives out its values through the charitable efforts of its non-profit, Stater Bros. Charities.
