Ontario, California-based Cardenas Markets has promoted Veronica Jimenez to the position of VP of real estate and construction. She will report directly to Prabash Coswatte, chief operating officer, for Cardenas Markets, and will oversee the day-to-day operations of the company’s real estate, construction and maintenance departments.
“Veronica possesses an in-depth understanding of commercial real estate and construction in addition to a unique ability to provide architectural support and interior design expertise,” said Coswatte. “She is an exceptional and dynamic leader dedicated to growing the next generation of Cardenas Markets.”
Jimenez joined Cardenas Markets as a consultant in 2019 and was named director of construction in 2021.
Prior to joining Cardenas Markets, Jimenez served as president of VJ Casa, a boutique interior design and architectural firm focused on commercial spaces both nationally and internationally. In this capacity, she provided interior design and architectural support for two Southern California supermarket chains.
She also served as director of design for HPA Architecture and as senior project designer for Del Mar Lighting and Architectural Design in Downey, California.
Jimenez attended Brooks College, where she received a degree in interior design and architecture.
Cardenas Markets operates 52 stores under the Cardenas banner and seven stores under the Los Altos Ranch Market banner. Cardenas Markets is one of the largest Hispanic grocery chains in the country with stores in California, Nevada and Arizona.
