James K. Nichols has been promoted to president and chief operating officer of Houchens Food Group Inc., according to an announcement by Houchens Industries Inc. Chairman and CEO Dion W. Houchins.
Nichols joined Houchens Food Group Inc. in June 2010 and most recently served as VP and chief operating officer. He is also a member of the Houchens Industries Inc. Board of Directors.
A grocery industry veteran, Nichols has more than 40 years of experience in both retail and wholesale operations. He has served on many industry related charitable and civic boards over the years. He currently serves on the boards of Associated Wholesale Grocers and National Grocers Association.
Houchens Food Group Inc. operates 342 grocery and convenience stores, 24 ACE Hardware Stores and 38 branded quick service restaurants in 14 states. Houchens Food Group Inc. is a wholly owned subsidiary of Houchens Industries, Inc.
