In accordance with new CDC and FDA guidelines, Southeastern Grocers will begin administering the approved Pfizer COVID-19 booster vaccine for the following groups:
- Individuals 65 years and older and residents in long-term care settings;
- Individuals aged 50-64 years with underlying medical conditions;
- Individuals aged 18-49 years with underlying medical conditions, based on their individual benefits and risks; and
- Individuals aged 18-64 years who are at increased risk for COVID-19 exposure and transmission because of occupational or institutional setting, based on their individual benefits and risks.
The grocer is offering walk-ups and online appointments for booster vaccines to eligible individuals in all Fresco y Más, Harveys Supermarket and Winn-Dixie pharmacies, as available. As an incentive, patients who receive any COVID-19 vaccine at any in-store pharmacy will receive a coupon for $10 off groceries.
These newly approved populations are eligible to receive their Pfizer booster at least six months after completion of the primary Pfizer vaccine series.
The CDC-approved boosters are only available for recipients who have completed a Pfizer primary vaccine series and are age 18 or older. The CDC is working to review and share evolving details for patients who received the Moderna and Johnson & Johnson vaccines and are not eligible for the Pfizer booster dose at this time. Customers should talk to their healthcare provider if they have any questions regarding the booster dose.
SEG encourages qualified individuals to visit frescoymas.com, harveyssupermarkets.com and winndixie.com for updates including available appointments, pharmacy locations, frequently asked questions and guidance to support the health and well-being of the communities they serve. The grocer continues to work to keep appointment availability updated online in real time as additional vaccines are regularly received or due to cancellations.
Walk-ins for all vaccines continue to be offered in all Fresco y Más, Harveys Supermarket and Winn-Dixie in-store pharmacies as an added convenience to customers. Customers have the continued option to view current COVID-19 vaccines available by location through the online scheduling tool and can schedule an appointment online or in person.
SEG is doubling vaccine incentives for customers who receive two vaccines on the same day in all Fresco y Más, Harveys Supermarket and Winn-Dixie in-store pharmacies to further encourage vaccine administration. To take part in the incentive, customers can walk into any SEG in-store pharmacy or make an appointment online to get a flu vaccine (free with most insurances) or COVID-19 vaccine and receive a free $10 grocery voucher. Additionally, customers who choose to receive both, or a second vaccine of their choice on the same day, will receive an additional $10 in grocery savings. See pharmacy for details.
SEG remains committed to caring for and supporting the communities it serves while following local, state and federal guidelines. With increased COVID-19 cases, the grocer encourages all customers to practice social distancing and wear masks while shopping in stores.
