Hugo’s Family Marketplace has hired Keith Vanderlin and Matt Forrest to be the store director and assistant store director, respectively, of the Park Rapids, Minnesota location.
Vanderlin began working for Hugo’s in 2009 as the frozen manager of the East Grand Forks, Minnesota, location. He moved into the grocery manager position, second assistant manager and assistant store director positions at the East Grand Forks location over the next nine years. In 2018, Vanderlin was promoted to store director of the North Grand Forks, North Dakota, location.
Vanderlin has previous retail experience working with Thrifty White and Pamida in East Grand Forks.
“Keith’s continued experience and commitment to Hugo’s, our customers and our communities are invaluable,” said Kristi Magnuson Nelson, Hugo’s president and CEO. “His leadership skills will be a benefit to our associates and our customers.”
Forrest began his career with Hugo’s in 2013 as the grocery manager at the East Grand Forks location. He worked in that position for seven years before being promoted to assistant store director of the 32nd Ave. S. Grand Forks Hugo’s.

Hugo and Dorothy Magnuson opened their first store in 1939. From the opening of that first store to today, Hugo’s has been proud to serve itsr communities. It is a local, family-owned business with 10 locations in North Dakota and Minnesota.
