The Amazon Fresh store in Schaumburg, Illinois, will open its doors on Thursday, Jan. 28. The Schaumburg location, at 16 A East Golf Road, is the second Amazon Fresh store to open to the public in Illinois.
The approximately 45,000-square-foot store will be open from 7 a.m.-10 p.m. PT daily. From 7-8 a.m. the store is open to serve customers who are 60 years or older, those with disabilities and those whom the CDC defines as high risk.
Amazon Fresh offers a seamless grocery shopping experience, whether customers are shopping in-store or online. The store offers consistently low prices for all and free, same-day delivery and pick-up for Prime members. It also has introduced new ways to make grocery shopping more convenient, including the Amazon Dash Cart, which enables customers to skip the checkout line, and new Alexa features to help customers manage their shopping lists and better navigate our aisles.
Amazon Fresh has a wide assortment of national brands and high-quality produce, meat and seafood, as well as a range of prepared foods made fresh in store every day –from fresh-baked bread and made-to-order pizzas, to rotisserie chickens and hot sandwiches like its brisket panini. It offers 365 by Whole Foods Market organics, plus national brands like Coca-Cola and Kraft Mac and Cheese; local brands like Turano Baking Co., Oberweis Dairy and Gino’s East frozen pizza; regional favorites like Duke’s Mayo, Ellenos Yogurt and Boston Chowda; and new Amazon exclusive brands like Fresh and Cursive.
Customers will find low-priced items available to shop every day – including 15-cent bananas; 89-cent freshly baked bread; $1.79 freshly baked pizza slices; and $4.97 rotisserie chickens.
As the new store opens, it is offering deals on a variety of items across the aisles like $2.69 for a 12-pack of Coca-Cola, buy one get one free Lay’s chips (7.5-8 oz.), $2.49/lb. sumo oranges, $4.59/lb. Angry Buffalo marinated chicken wings, and $12.89/lb. USDA Choice beef tenderloin steak. All opening deals can be found here.
Supporting the Schaumburg community
Amazon Fresh supports the community by creating hundreds of high-quality local jobs and by donating surplus food from the store to local food banks. To date, Amazon Fresh already has donated more than 40,000 pounds of food (equivalent to over 35,000 meals) from the Schaumburg store.
Customer and associate safety
Amazon Fresh has applied the same comprehensive safety measures in place at Whole Foods Market, such as requiring face coverings and daily temperature checks for all employees and vendors entering the store; requiring face coverings for all customers entering the store; offering free, disposable face masks for those who want one; operating the store at 50 percent capacity; and more.
