In yet another first for the peanut butter market, PB2 Foods, the Tifton, Georgia-based pioneer of powdered peanut butter, has launched its newest innovation: PB2 Crunchy Powdered Peanut Butter.
“Finally, health-conscious peanut butter lovers who prefer crunchy over creamy no longer have to pick a side,” said Craig Entwistle, CEO of PB2 Foods.
Like other offerings in the brand’s portfolio, PB2 Crunchy is made using the highest quality peanuts sourced locally from Georgia farms. With 70 percent fewer calories and 85 percent less fat than traditional peanut butter, PB2 Crunchy delivers a slew of functional benefits, including 5 grams of plant-based protein per serving. The product is also gluten-free and GMO-free, as well as certified vegan and kosher.
“No one in our category has tried anything like this to-date,” said Entwistle. “And as the original powdered peanut butter brand, we pride ourselves on bringing consistent innovation to the market so more consumers can enjoy the better-for-you benefits of PB2.”
“Chunky” peanut butter currently represents a sizeable share of the multi-billion-dollar nut butter category, presenting a substantial opportunity for a powdered alternative.
“We designed PB2 Crunchy to entice traditional-style crunchy peanut butter lovers to give us a try,” Entwistle said. “But after just a few weeks on the market, we’re seeing many of our PB2 Original fans have added PB2 Crunchy to their routines while still using our flagship ‘creamy’ product as their daily go-to. PB2 Crunchy is available online via the PB2 website and the brand’s Amazon store. The product is set to debut in retail locations in early 2021.
