Chicago-based EggLife Foods has announced that it is expanding distribution into Texas via all nine Central Market locations.
The arrangement marks the brand’s first distribution partnership in the Southwest, extending its presence to include more than 400 stores across several retail partners in the Midwest.
“Central Market provides an experience completely their own, one that delivers high-end options through inspiring store designs and unique epicurean events and festivals,” said Ross Lipari, chief sales officer of EggLife Foods. “Their product knowledge is top-notch, and we can’t wait to further establish this partnership in the future.”
EggLife Foods uses cage-free eggs, not flour, to reimagine carbohydrate-heavy foods. The egglife egg white wraps contain less than 30 calories, which is about equal to one gram of carbohydrates and five grams of protein each.
The wraps are gluten-free, grain-free, dairy-free and soy-free. They are available in four flavors – Original, Italian Style, Rye Style and Southwest Style. They come six to a package and retail for about $4.99.
Central Market is a gourmet grocery store chain owned by H-E-B Grocery Co. based in San Antonio, Texas. Most locations also have a full-service kitchen, offer cooking and wine classes in their culinary school and offer catering services.
It was named “Outstanding Specialty Food Retailer” by Specialty Food Magazine and the National Association for Specialty Food Trade.
First developed by EggLife founder Peggy Johns in her own kitchen, the wraps are now produced at the company’s facility in Wolcott, Indiana.
