Miami, Florida-based Southern Glazer’s Wine & Spirits has appointed Carlos Ferrandiz to the new role of EVP and general manager of Coastal Pacific Wine & Spirits of New York, effective immediately. This follows Diageo North America’s recent decision to restructure its distributor alignment in New York to Southern Glazer’s, resulting in the creation of a new Coastal Pacific Wine & Spirits selling division in New York dedicated to the Diageo portfolio.
Ferrandiz will report to Gerry Rivero, EVP and managing director of Coastal Pacific Wine & Spirits, and be responsible for overseeing the transition efforts in preparation for the effective “go live” date of Sept. 1, as well for ongoing leadership of the division in New York.
Ferrandiz has more than 25 years of experience in the wine and spirits industry. He comes to Coastal Pacific Wine & Spirits from Empire Merchants North, where he held the position of VP of sales and marketing. Prior to Empire Merchants North, he was the VP and general manager of Allied Beverage Group. Ferrandiz also has held sales and management positions with Moet Hennessy, Peerless Importers, Trinchero Family Estates, R&R Marketing and Gallo Wine Sales of New Jersey. He holds a bachelor’s degree in marketing from Rutgers University.
“Carlos brings an unparalleled depth of experience in New York, and we are thrilled to welcome him into our Coastal Pacific Wine & Spirits family,” said Rivero. “His leadership in this very important market for Diageo and Southern Glazer’s will enable us to develop an industry leading route-to-market for the long term, while continuing to partner with our retailers and on-premise trade partners as New York rebuilds from the COVID-19 crisis.”
Southern Glazer’s Wine & Spirits is a distributor of beverage alcohol and is a multi-generational, family-owned company. It has operations in 44 U.S. states and the District of Columbia, and Canada.
