Redner’s Markets has joined the Pennsylvania Food Merchants Association (PFMA), which advocates for thousands of grocers, convenience stores and wholesalers throughout the state. Redner’s President and CEO Ryan Redner was appointed to the PFMA Board of Directors.
“Redner’s is 100-percent employee owned and has been serving Eastern Pennsylvania, Delaware and Maryland customers loyally for more than 50 years,” PFMA President and CEO Alex Baloga said. “We’re proud to add Redner’s to our growing membership and honored to have someone of Ryan Redner’s leadership and expertise serving on our board of directors.”
Redner’s was founded in 1970 by Mary and Earl Redner, starting with a pair of supermarkets in Reading, Pennsylvania. The company now operates 44 Warehouse Markets and 20 Redner’s Quick Shoppe convenience stores in Pennsylvania, Delaware and Maryland. Redner’s Warehouse Markets has two distribution warehouses in Berks County, Pennsylvania.
Ryan Redner was appointed president and CEO of Redner’s Markets Inc. in 2017. He joined the company in 1995, working in in a variety of capacities within the stores and warehouses while attending college.
Upon graduation in 1999, he was appointed director of direct store delivery operations, promoted to the board of directors in 2004 and named chief operating officer in 2007. He oversees leadership for all of Redner’s Warehouse Markets, Redner’s Quick Shoppes, corporate office, warehouses and the more than 4,700 associates and employee owners.
Redner is a 1995 graduate of Wilson School District and earned a bachelor of science degree from Lebanon Valley College in 1999. He has previously served on the boards of Helping Harvest Fresh Food Bank and Berks Encore and currently serves as president of the Wyomissing Area School District School Board, is a board member of the Greater Reading Chamber Alliance and volunteers as a youth football coach in the Wyomissing Area Youth Football Association. He has previously served on the boards of several non-profit, community organizations.
Redner resides in Wyomissing with his wife Christina, daughters Sydney and Brooke, and son Beckett.
