H-E-B and Favor Delivery have expanded service to support even more Texans. With this move, Favor has doubled its delivery coverage area statewide to give more Texans access to on-demand delivery from restaurants and stores, and to support more seniors via the H-E-B and Favor Senior Support Program. In rapid response to the Covid-19 outbreak, Favor—whose most recent statewide expansion included adding 40 new Texas markets over the course of 12 months—has just launched 75 new Texas markets within an accelerated one-week timeframe, as well as expanded its delivery areas in its existing markets.
“With Texans relying on delivery now more than ever, it is our duty to support more of our communities across the state, as quickly as possible,” said Jag Bath, Favor CEO and H-E-B chief digital officer. “H-E-B and Favor joined forces in 2018 to better serve our Texas customers and communities together, and we remain committed to doing everything we can for our state during this crisis.”
Starting this week, residents in Favor’s new and expanded markets—from Del Rio to Kerrville to Alice to Waxahachie to Lufkin and beyond—will be able to get on-demand delivery from restaurants and stores in their cities via the Favor app or favordelivery.com, seven days a week. With safety as the top priority, Runners (Favor’s delivery drivers) will place all deliveries at the customer’s doorstep, providing a completely contactless experience. Customers can text or call their Runner with any questions or special instructions, and they will receive a notification when their Favor delivery has arrived at their door.
With this expansion, H-E-B & Favor’s Senior Support Program now will be available to seniors (60-plus) from every H-E-B, Central Market and Joe V’s store in Texas. H-E-B and Favor, the Austin-based on-demand delivery service that H-E-B acquired in 2018, launched this effort on March 20, as an affordable and safe shopping solution that allows seniors to receive same-day, contactless deliveries of groceries and essentials, while remaining in the comfort and safety of their home.
“We’re excited that we can now reach more Texas seniors with this service, which is one of the safest, healthiest solutions in the marketplace,” said Martin Otto, H-E-B chief operating officer. “Since launching this program, the response from seniors and the community has been overwhelming—in just three weeks, we have delivered over 67,000 essential grocery orders to seniors across Texas.”
To keep this service affordable, H-E-B and Favor are waiving all delivery and service fees for the first 30 days of the program. Orders include a $10 tip, which goes entirely to the Favor Runner, who will personally shop and deliver items. In response to customers asking how they can help make these deliveries even more affordable for seniors, H-E-B and Favor recently launched the Senior Support Fund, where 100 percent of contributions to the fund are directly applied to seniors’ orders to ensure they have access to low-cost home delivery during this crisis. Texans can give directly at favordelivery.com/SeniorSupportFund or after placing an order in the Favor app.
Since launching the Senior Support Program, Favor also has introduced it’s Easy Ordering & Delivery website to the program. This new online ordering system provides seniors with a simple, step-by-step process for ordering groceries from their local H-E-B, Central Market or Joe V’s from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., seven days a week. Seniors can also place orders through a dedicated phone line—staffed by H-E-B and Favor volunteers—from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., seven days a week. Seniors (60-plus) can access the Senior Support Line by calling 1-833-397-0080.
To support this rapid expansion, Favor Delivery is actively seeking to add new Runners throughout its newly launched markets. As contract delivery drivers, Runners choose their own hours and can earn extra income on a flexible schedule. Texans interested in becoming a Runner can visit apply.favordelivery.com.
