Boone, Iowa-based Fareway Stores Inc. recently entered its sixth state with the opening of a Fareway Meat Market and McGonigle’s Kitchen + Catering BBQ in Kansas City, Missouri. In February, Fareway announced it had purchased the assets of McGonigle’s, located at 79th and Ward Parkway. The re-opening of the market location March 2 marks the expansion of Fareway’s regional footprint to a sixth state.
“We have highly anticipated the opening of this store location and the expansion into the Missouri market,” said Fareway President and CEO Reynolds W. Cramer. “As we explored the area, McGonigle’s was exactly the right fit for us. Their foundation for serving neighborhood and area residents for two generations aligns perfectly with Fareway’s values and focus on excellent customer service.”
The new Fareway Meat Market offers a full-service meat counter, with expanded seafood, artisan cheeses, high quality wine, top-shelf spirits, craft beer and many other unique offerings. The store also offers prepared foods and catering under the McGonigle’s name.
Fareway Stores currently operates 123 stores in a six-state region. Fareway’s mission is to provide the highest quality products, while treating customers like family and valuing dedicated employees.
