Key Food Stores Co-Operative Inc., a chain of primarily independently owned and corporate grocery stores, held a grand opening of its newest SuperFresh location in Brooklyn, New York, on Nov. 22.
Local officials and Key Food executives including CEO Dean Janeway, COO George Knobloch, CFO Sharon Konzelman, CIO Tammy Teague and VP of business development John Durante were in attendance at the opening of the store on 7002 13th Avenue in Brooklyn.
“These store owners have done a tremendous amount of work to create a wonderful store,” says Durante. “This area definitely had a need for a grocery store and SuperFresh will definitely fill that void.”
At 12,000 s.f., this new SuperFresh has a variety of local organic and specialty items, as well as international foods, throughout the store. There will be a gourmet deli with hot foods and a salad bar, in addition to catering options. The bakery department offers a large selection of cakes and pastries. A fresh seafood department and on-site floral department also are offered. For added convenience, customers can take advantage of phone orders, free delivery and self-checkout.
“We’re so excited to open our doors to the community,” says store owner Sam Abed. “Our goal is to serve the needs of all our customers with a store they can love.”
