Salisbury, North Carolina-based Food Lion has served the Goose Creek community for 35 years and this week, customers will be able to shop a new store that offers an expanded assortment of items, along with the option of online shopping.
On Wednesday, Oct. 23, customers can visit the new, larger Food Lion store location at 142 St. James Avenue, in Goose Creek, South Carolina.
The store will open to the public at 8 a.m., following a 7:45 a.m. ribbon-cutting ceremony, where the first 100 customers in line will receive a Food Lion gift card valued at $10. One lucky winner will receive a $200 Food Lion gift card. The first 100 customers also will receive a Food Lion reusable grocery bag.
The new store will offer an expanded variety of products, including in-store fresh-cut fruit and vegetables and in-store made hand-battered buttermilk fried chicken. Shoppers can also purchase “Grab-n-go” meals to help make dinner easier. The new location also features an expanded health and beauty section.
“We are proud to have been a member of this community since 1984,” said Tyrell McPherson, store manager. “We are very excited about the opening of this new store that will give our neighbors an expanded assortment of foods to choose from to nourish their families. In addition, this store is a more convenient place where shopping is easy, fresh and always affordable.”
The new store will provide options from Food Lion’s Nature’s Promise beef, pork, poultry, milk, eggs, bottled water, cereal, coffee and other items.
Nature’s Promise is Food Lion’s brand of organic products that are made with no artificial flavors, preservatives or synthetic colors. Customers also will continue to enjoy Food Lion’s Taste of Inspirations line of products, which are backed by its 100 percent money-back guarantee.
Starting Oct. 28, the store will feature the company’s new Food Lion To-Go service. Food Lion To-Go allows customers to order groceries and arrange same-day pick up at a scheduled time, without ever having to enter a store.
To demonstrate Food Lion’s ongoing support of the Goose Creek community, Food Lion will donate more than 10,000 meals, both fresh and non-perishable, to Helping Hands food pantry to help feed hungry local families. Food Lion associates will stock their pantry and help to distribute items to their clients on Tuesday, Oct. 22 from 9:30 a.m. until 11 a.m.
The new Goose Creek store will be open daily 7 a.m.-11 p.m.
