Plano, Texas-based brand Smartfood has introduced Smart50. Air popped and available in White Cheddar and Sea Salt, the brand’s two flavors of ready-to-eat popcorn are 50 calories per cup or less.

“With the launch of Smart50, we wanted to show consumers that making smart choices doesn’t mean having to sacrifice fun or flavor,” says Tracey Williams, senior director of marketing, PepsiCo. “As our latest innovation, Smart50 extends our brand mission to provide simple and transparent ingredients and is designed to make consumers feel good about their snacking choices.”

Featuring a new packaging design, the product is made from 100 percent whole-grain popcorn free of artificial flavors and preservatives. Smartfood’s social channels now feature the same pop art-inspired illustrations seen on the bag.

Smart50 is available at retail stores nationwide and comes in 5-oz. and 6-oz. bags at $3.99.

The Smartfood brand is one of the brands that makes up Frito-Lay North America, the $14 billion convenient foods business unit of PepsiCo.
