Salisbury, North Carolina-based Food Lion is continuing to increase the availability of its Food Lion To-Go grocery pick up service at 50 stores in Delaware, North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia and West Virginia beginning Oct. 14. A ribbon cutting ceremony will be held at each location at 8:45 a.m. on Oct. 14th, and to help introduce customers to this new service, Food Lion is offering shoppers their first pickup for free.
The launch of this new service allows customers to order and pick up their groceries in as little as an hour.
“We are so excited to expand this convenient service to more stores in the Food Lion footprint and enable customers to spend more time on what matters most to them,” says Deborah Sabo, SVP of marketing at Food Lion. “With the Food Lion To-Go service, our associates become personal shoppers and are able to hand pick the freshest produce and best cuts of meat, just as they would for their own family. We look forward to continuing to nourish our neighbors with this new convenient service.”
Food Lion wants to give local residents the option to shop through the channel they prefer: in-store or online. The company continues to expand this new service in the towns and cities it serves. With the click of a button, Food Lion To-Go allows customers to experience the same low prices and fresh food items without having to ever enter a store. The online service lets customers fill a virtual cart with the grocery items they need and schedule a pick-up time that works for their schedule.
