On Thursday, Oct. 3, a new Latin marketplace called La Cosecha had a soft opening in Washington, D.C.
The 20,000-s.f. cross-cultural marketplace features more than a dozen businesses, from first-to-region restaurants to retail to rotating pop-ups. It is located in the Union Market District.
Opening partners in La Cosecha include:
• El Cielo—a pop-up of JuanMa Barrientos’ upcoming modern Colombian restaurant;
• Nova Bossa—a luxury jewelry, décor and accessories boutique featuring female-run brands;
• Amparo—Christian Irabien’s modern Mexican fare with a mezcal-heavy bar program;
• Peruvian Brothers—Peruvian-style sandwiches, empanadas, desserts and hot sauce;
• Serenata—Colada Shop creator Daniella Senior’s elevated cocktail concept; and
• Zona E Home—family-owned Colombia-based family interiors and furniture shop.
Opening later this fall:
• Ali Pacha—Sebastian Quiroga’s plant-based Bolivian fine dining restaurant;
• Grand Cata—a grocery-wine bar concept offering a curated selection of Pan-Latin wines;
• Café Unido—the first U.S. outpost of the Panamanian coffee roaster;
• La Casita—the family-owned pupuseria’s elevated take on the traditional Salvadoran treat;
• Filos Bakery—sweets and family recipes from Mexican-German-Italian baker; and
• Mosaico Street Food + Market—a range of Latin goods and a rotating menu of street food.
Featuring amenities like a media lab, culinary immersion studio and event space, La Cosecha, located at 1280 4th Street NE, was developed by real estate company Edens.
La Cosecha will be open four days a week: Thursday 11 a.m.-10 p.m.; Friday and Saturday 11 a.m.-midnight; and Sunday 11 a.m.-6 p.m.
