Kissimmee, Florida-based Easy Foods Inc.‘s Vedgee and TacoMex brands soon will be making their way to Walmart store shelves across the Southeast after being selected to move forward during Walmart’s Open Call event. The Vedgee brand also received approval at Walmart’s Bring It event.
Walmart Open Call takes place over two days and consists of a meeting between buyers and entrepreneurs with a goal of bolstering sales of American products. During Open Call, companies throughout the United States, regardless of size, have a chance to highlight their products and expand their reach to millions of Walmart customers.
The news is a major milestone for Easy Foods Inc., as it marks the first time its tortillas will be available to consumers through traditional retail means, with Walmart being its first customer. Formerly, the tortillas were distributed solely to the foodservice industry.
