Hugo’s Promotes Winges, Hires Lorton As Store Director

Hugo’s Family Marketplace has promoted Kristen Winges to deli director. Winges will oversee deli operations for all Hugo’s Family Marketplace locations.

Winges brings more than 20 years of experience to the role. She has been working with Hugo’s in the deli for 12 years and has previous experience with Bill’s Supervalu in Milbank, South Dakota.

“I am so happy to see Kristen growing with our company,” said Kristi Magnuson Nelson, president and CEO of Hugo’s Family Marketplace. “Her experience and great personality will be an asset to our company in this role.”

Mike Lorton has joined Hugo’s as store director of the company’s Grafton, North Dakota, location. He will oversee all operations of the Grafton Hugo’s Family Marketplace and Caribou Coffee shop.

He brings an extensive background in retail management experience to Hugo’s and previously worked with Mills Fleet Farm and Shopko.

“We are excited to have Mike working with us in our Grafton store,” Magnuson Nelson said. “His experience and professionalism will be an asset to the community, our associates and the store.”

“I am enjoying the interaction with our customers and helping them find what they need,” Lorton said. “I also enjoy working with and getting to know the associates.”

Hugo’s Family Marketplace has been family-owned and -operated since 1939 by the Hugo Magnuson family. It has 10 grocery locations, five Hugo’s Wine & Spirits stores and seven Caribou Coffee shops in North Dakota and Minnesota.
