Kellogg Co. has announced the promotion of two of its longstanding and experienced sales leaders.
Carrie Sander has been promoted to VP-national accounts-grocery, and Shane Sgambelluri has been promoted to VP-regional accounts-grocery.
Sander has a variety of experience in different sales channels and regions during her 17 years with Kellogg. She most recently served as VP of sales for Kellogg’s Kroger business.
Sgambelluri joined Kellogg more than 17 years ago and has deep experience across many channels and regions of the U.S. Kellogg business, the Battle Creek, Michigan-based company said.
He most recently served as West Region VP, and has a proven track record of enhancing customer relationships, delivering budget and consistently growing sales, according to Kellogg.
“We are thrilled to see Carrie and Shane stepping into senior leadership roles within Kellogg,” said Scott Salmon, chief customer officer. “With more than 34 years of combined service, the two have earned the respect of Kellogg’s customers and of their teams. I know our grocery business will thrive with their leadership.”
These appointments followed the resignation of Kim Reed, GM of Kellogg’s U.S. Grocery business, to pursue a new career opportunity. Her last day is May 31.
“Kellogg is committed to delivering ‘perfect service and perfect store’ to our customers,” Salmon said. “Carrie and Shane will play critical roles in helping advance our commitments and deliver sustainable growth.”
New cereal coming this summer
In other news, Kellogg this summer is rolling out a new cereal, Raisin Bran Crunch Vanilla Almond. The only cereal in the Raisin Bran lineup to include nuts, the new variety has almond slices and a hint of vanilla flavor along with bran flakes, raisins and crunchy clusters. It is a good source of fiber and has 16g of whole grains.
“We know Raisin Bran Crunch fans love the mix of textures in every bite, and our new Vanilla Almond flavor adds an extra layer by marrying the crisp smoothness of almond slivers with vanilla flavor,” said Brad Schwan, senior marketing director for Kellogg’s Ready To Eat Cereal.
The cereal will be available beginning in June at all major retailers and grocery stores where breakfast foods are sold.
Kellogg brands include Pringles, Cheez-It, Keebler, Special K, Kellogg’s Frosted Flakes, Pop-Tarts, Kellogg’s Corn Flakes, Rice Krispies, Eggo, Mini-Wheats, Kashi and RXBar. Net sales in 2018 were approximately $13.5 billion, principally comprising snacks and convenience foods like cereal and frozen foods.
