The Network of Executive Women (NEW) is celebrating the Southern California Region chapter’s milestone 10th anniversary.

The Southern California chapter NEW was founded by Sue Klug, Caroline Cotton Nakken and Amy Oates Fitzgerald in 2009. Since then, the SoCal Region chapter has grown to 1,100 members.

For its 10-year anniversary, NEW is inviting members and non-members to celebrate SoCal’s commitment to being champions of gender equality and advancing women.

“NEW is led and driven by member volunteers. Regional officers are critical stakeholders who lead committee teams and create engagement activities within their local markets that support advancing all women. SoCal’s team diversity and their connection within the community make them an amazing force for change. They have created value for sponsors to support them locally through various creative events like their renowned silent auction,” said Julie Basile, NEW VP of regions, community and marketing.

The NEW SoCal chapter is hosting a 10-year anniversary event on Wednesday, May 15. Hosted at the Bowers Museum from 4-8:30 p.m. PST, the chapter’s founding members will be honored; keynote speaker Tiffany White of the Los Angeles Rams will share inspiration for workplace transformation; and attendees will have a chance network with forward-thinking business leaders in the region.

“We (the SoCal chapter) have focused our efforts on curating events that not only meet the needs and interests of our members but also support anyone navigating their personal and professional development. Our sights are set high on helping our members and their companies develop ideas and solutions for career advancement,” said NEW Regional Officer Miriam Welch, who is grocery sales manager for Albertsons/Vons and The Shelby Report’s Woman Executive of the Year (upcoming June 2019 edition).

Founded in 2001, the Network of Executive Women represents more than 13,000 members, 900 companies, 120 corporate partners and 22 regions in the U.S. and Canada advancing all women and building business.
