Giant Food, a greater Washington, D.C., regional grocery chain headquartered in Landover, Maryland, will open a new store at 6 a.m. on Friday, April 12, at 18140 Village Center Drive. The store will feature more than 40,270-s.f. of selling space.
The location will be the grocer’s first store to be entirely comprised of a new layout and décor designed for clear navigation for shoppers. Store features include a larger health and beauty department, enhanced hot food offerings, full gourmet cheese shop, expanded produce and natural food offerings, sushi bar, full-service meat, seafood, bakery and floral departments and both dairy as well as frozen kosher food sections. The new store will allow for the addition of more than 50 new jobs for the local community.
Additional store features include a full-service pharmacy, Starbucks Café, free wifi and a PNC Bank branch as well as self-checkout and self-scan options for shoppers.

Customers who shop at 17821 Georgia Avenue in Olney will not experience an interruption in service as the new store will open the following morning after the nearby location closes.
