Chicago’s Spinning Wheel Brands Debuts Its Sesame Milk

Spinning Wheel Brands Hope & Sesame

With consumers shifting to plant-based protein alternatives, Spinning Wheel Brands introduced Hope & Sesame, a new line of protein-backed, nondairy sesame milks, at Natural Products Expo West, which took place March 6-9 in Anaheim, California.

Its sesame milks, sold in 1-liter cartons, provide 8g of protein and 120 calories per serving plus as much calcium as whole dairy milk, with less sugar, more vitamin D and no dairy allergens or lactose, the company says. The beverages are made with Sesamein, Hope & Sesame’s exclusive plant-based protein concentrate.

Chocolate, vanilla, original and unsweetened original are vegan and free of dairy, soy, gluten and tree nuts. Chocolate hazelnut is vegan and free of dairy, soy and gluten. They can be consumed on their own or in cereals, smoothies and protein drinks.

“Consumers today are concerned about sustainability, personal health, ethics and animal welfare,” said Julia Stamberger, CEO and co-founder of Spinning Wheel Brands. “Sesame seeds are a versatile, low-maintenance crop to cultivate and more sustainable than other seeds and nuts because it can grow in moisture or heat-stressed environments. Sesame is also a natural source of vital minerals like copper, magnesium, iron and rich amino acids.”

Spinning Wheel Brands will also displayed its Mozaics and Handfulls snack lines at Expo West.

Mozaics are “artfully tiled” popped chips made with organic green peas, organic yellow split peas, organic potatoes and organic black beans. They are gluten-free, certified USDA organic, kosher, non-GMO Project Verified and free of peanuts and tree nuts. Mozaics organic popped veggie and potato chips contain 40 percent real vegetables, including 30 percent peas and 10 percent beans. At 110 calories per 1-oz. (23-chip) serving, Mozaics chips are available in sea salt, salsa, BBQ, cheddar and sour cream & onion flavors.

The Handfulls line comes two ways: Handfulls with CrrrunchBites or Handfulls with Fusions.

CrrrunchBites, described as an evolution of the traditional beer nut, is a California almond wrapped in a chip. Flavors are BBQ, honey mustard, ranch and chili lime; they are certified gluten-free, kosher and non-GMO. BBQ, chili lime and ranch are vegan. They’re packed in 1.5-oz. snack bags or 3.75-oz. share bags.

Fusions, a trail mix line, blends sweet and savory ingredients, including the California almonds wrapped in a lightly seasoned chip. Varieties are: Denali Mountain Mix, Fusions Cabo Catamaran Crunch, Fusions Hill Country BBQ Blend, Bangkok Backpack Blend and Lakeshore Trail Mix. The on-the-go snacks are certified gluten-free, kosher and non-GMO. They are available in 3.75-oz. share bags.

Founded in 2016 and headquartered in Chicago, Spinning Wheel Brands is described as “a perpetual brand generator, launcher and grower in the emerging food and beverage industry.” Spinning Wheel Brands current portfolio includes Copious Brands, with Veggicopia, Mozaics, Handfulls with CrrrunchBites and Fusions and Hope & Sesame.
