Raley’s Family of Fine Stores said Thursday that it plans to construct a new store focused on health and wellness in the Sacramento neighborhood of Arden.
Construction on the 36,000-s.f. store at the the corner of Howe Avenue and Fair Oaks Boulevard is slated to begin in mid-2016 with an opening targeted for the second quarter of 2017.
“Raley’s takes great pride operating our business in one of the richest agricultural hubs in the world. We are excited about what this region represents for the future of food production,” said Raley’s owner and CEO Michael Teel. “Raley’s is helping lead the way to a better food system and our new site offers an opportunity to continue that innovation.”
In partnership with Stafford King Wiese Architects and Armstrong Development Properties, Raley’s says it plans to develop a state-of-the-art store with a focus on the most sustainable features.
West Sacramento-based Raley’s operates 124 stores in Northern California and Nevada under four banners: Raley’s Supermarkets, Bel Air Markets, Nob Hill Foods and Food Source.
