Atlanta-based Star Packaging Corp., a provider of innovative flexible packaging, has launched its TerraFlex RP line of fully recyclable stand up pouches. The newest addition to Star’s TerraFlex family of sustainable packaging solutions, TerraFlex RP is ideal for use in virtually any flexible packaging application. From food and beverage to grass seeds and lawn products, the 100 percent polyethylene TerraFlex RP line offers superior performance to traditional plastic packaging while allowing for greater sustainability.
“With consumers growing ever-more conscious of the impact products and packaging have on the environment, solutions like Star’s TerraFlex RP line are vital to the packaging industry,” said Fred Crowe, president and CEO of Star Packaging. “The consumer packaged goods industry needs to be able to demonstrate clearly a commitment to reducing their environmental footprint while continuing to produce the same high-quality, visually-appealing products that consumers know and expect.”
From frozen food to candy and snacks, flexible packaging needs to grab the consumer’s attention on increasingly busy store shelves, and brands are progressively moving toward higher quality graphics, eye-catching colors and high-end designs, according to Star Packaging Corp. The TerraFlex RP line is available in both matte and gloss finishes and can incorporate up to 10-color printing to maximize a product’s shelf impact and ensure brands stand out in the limited real estate of retail outlets.
With a wide number of filling processes being used in the market, Star Packaging offers a range of packaging technologies to meet the different requirements. Pouch options range from open-bottom to open-top, and from wicketed to loose pack, helping consumer packaged goods companies address varied customer needs. Press-to-close zippers also can be added to allow for packaging to be resealed and re-used.
“With TerraFlex RP, we’re truly offering the best of both worlds,” Crowe said. “The same high standards of packaging that our customers have relied on at Star Packaging for decades, but now in an advanced, environmentally responsible format.”
Star Packaging Corp. recently was formed through the merger of Master Packaging, located in Tampa, Fla., and Star Packaging of Atlanta.
