Jerrys Foods
In 1947, Jerry Paulsen became the beloved neighborhood butcher at Grandview Market in Edina, known for his personalized service and attention to detail. In 1950, when the market was put up for sale, Jerry seized the opportunity to purchase it, transforming it into Jerry’s Lucky Dollar. His vision was to provide the kind of full-service grocery experience that emphasized customer satisfaction, cutting steaks and chops to order and offering more than what customers expected.
Over time, Jerry’s Lucky Dollar grew into a renowned full-service grocery store, particularly celebrated for its exceptional meat and seafood departments. The business expanded, and additional stores opened under the Jerry’s Foods banner in Eden Prairie, Minnesota, and Sanibel Island, Florida. Jerry Paulsen continued to work at the Edina store well into his eighties, remaining a familiar and friendly presence until his passing in 2013.
Today, Jerry’s Foods continues to uphold the legacy of personalized service, quality, and community involvement that Jerry Paulsen established. Each store reflects its neighborhood, offering specialty foods and maintaining hiring practices and services that sustain a family-oriented work environment. For over 70 years, Jerry’s Foods has prioritized delivering quality perishables, convenience, competitive pricing, and an authentic neighborhood shopping experience. The stores make it easy for customers to shop local, eat healthy, go organic, and enjoy fresh food, ensuring that every shopping trip is exceptional.
