Through Sept. 30, Schnuck Markets Inc. is holding its annual United Way Round Up at the Register campaign, encouraging customers to round up their grocery bills to the nearest dollar to support the nonprofit.
Customers using self-checkout can contribute by selecting a $1, $3 or $5 Scan and Give option. In addition, members of the Schnucks Rewards program can contribute points through the “Donate Your Rewards” program.
In last year’s campaign, Schnucks employees, customers and the company raised nearly $2.25 million for the United Way.
“Through our annual United Way campaign, our teammates and company are proud to nourish people’s lives and make a meaningful difference in the health, stability and future of the many communities we serve throughout the Midwest,” said Schnucks Chairman and CEO Todd Schnuck.
“With our customers’ generous round ups, United Way is able to help those most in need and drive lasting, positive change across our region because we are all stronger together.”
One hundred percent of customer donations go to local United Way chapters in the communities where the donations are made.
“Schnucks’ Round at the Register initiative will be an integral part of what we hope will be a very special community campaign,” said Michelle D. Tucker, president and CEO of United Way of Greater St. Louis. “This year, we will need historic support for our campaign considering our region’s recent challenges, and Schnucks customers have the opportunity to make a monumental impact through their giving.
“We are so grateful to Schnucks for joining our efforts to create a better, brighter future for our region.”
