Baton Rouge, Louisiana-based Associated Grocers Inc. has named David Politz interim president and CEO, succeeding Manard Lagasse Jr., who is leaving the company at year’s end for another opportunity.
Politz has a long history with Associated Grocers, beginning in 1985 as a part-time employee while attending college. During his career, he has served in various leadership roles in AGBR’s information services department, as well as its wholesale operations department and most recently as SVP and chief information officer.
He has led the development and implementation of the critical systems required to support the company’s retail members.
Politz gives insight into what will be a seamless transition for the company, which is entering its 75th year of service with a focus on the future.

“We appreciate Manard’s bold leadership and guidance. He leaves a legacy of enthusiastic service to our members, our employees and the communities we serve.”
