Stater Bros. Markets plans to build a new store that will anchor the Greenspot Crossings shopping center at the 210 Freeway and Greenspot Road in Highland, California.
TREH Partners broke ground on the shopping center in March. Stater Bros. anticipates construction of the store will begin this fall, with opening set for next summer.
The store will replace a Stater Bros. Markets location at 3633 Highland Ave. that opened in 1979. All employees at that store will be offered an opportunity to transfer to other Stater Bros. locations. An official closing date will be determined as the grand opening of the replacement store draws closer.

“Stater Bros. is excited to be a part of the rapid growth and continued development of the city of Highland,” said Stater Bros. Markets CEO Pete Van Helden. “We are happy that we’ll be able to offer a world-class grocery shopping experience in an area yearning for expanded food solutions.”
The company expects the new location to complement its store about two miles east on Greenspot Road in East Highland. At more than 46,000-square-feet, it will be nearly double the size of the store it is replacing and will feature full-service meat, seafood, service deli and bakery departments and a wide selection of fresh and healthy offerings, including sushi and cut fruit stations.
In addition, the new store will implement eco-friendly practices, such as energy-efficient equipment and LED lighting.
