Tillamook Wins 13 Medals At International Cheese, Dairy Awards

Tillamook wins several medals from the International Cheese and Dairy Awards

Tillamook County Creamery Association is bringing 13 awards back to its headquarters in Oregon following the 128th International Cheese and Dairy Awards (ICDA) hosted June 28-29 in Stafford, United Kingdom.

The International Cheese and Dairy Awards competition gathers dairy experts and judges from all over the world to evaluate product entries, such as Tillamook, based on aroma, flavor, texture and visual presentation.

The three highest-scoring entries in each class were awarded gold, silver or bronze medals, respectively, within their category. Tillamook products were among more than 5,500 entries, with its cheddars, brick cream cheese and cream cheese spreads winning the following titles:

Gold

  • Best USA Cheese Any Variety: Farmers’ Collection Hickory Smoked Extra Sharp White Cheddar
  • Naturally Smoked Cheese: Farmers’ Collection Hickory Smoked Extra Sharp White Cheddar
  • Soft Cheese Containing Sweet with Additives: Seriously Strawberry Cream Cheese Spread
  • Specialty Soft or Cream Cheese with Additives: Seriously Strawberry Cream Cheese Spread
  • Cheese Spread, Any Variety: Brick Cream Cheese

Silver

  • Specialty Soft or Cream Cheese with Additives: Chive & Onion Cream Cheese Spread
  • Soft, Semi-Soft, or Cream Cheese with Additives, other than Blue: Chive & Onion Cream Cheese Spread
  • Naturally Smoked, Semi-Hard Cheese: Farmers’ Collection Hickory Smoked Extra Sharp White Cheddar
  • Soft, Semi-Soft, or Cream Cheese without Additives, other than Blue: Brick Cream Cheese

Bronze

  • Soft Cheese Containing Savory with Additives: Very Veggie Cream Cheese Spread
  • Vegetarian Cheese, Cheddar: Maker’s Reserve 2019 Extra Sharp White Cheddar
  • Best USA Cheddar, Extra Mature/Vintage: Extra Sharp White Cheddar
  • Best USA Soft/Semi-Soft: Original Cream Cheese Spread

Founded in 1909 as a farmer-owned cooperative, Tillamook County Creamery Association is owned by a group of farming families, primarily based in Tillamook County, Oregon.

The organization operates production facilities in Tillamook and Boardman, Oregon, and employs more than 1,100 people. The Tillamook Creamery is the largest tourist attraction on the coast of Oregon and one of the most popular in the state, attracting more than one million visitors each year.
