Stater Bros. Charities and Dr Pepper made a $30,000 donation to the Citrus Little League in Rancho Cucamonga, California, on June 1, to help it recover from the burglary and vandalization of the organization’s snack bar.
In a show of support, representatives from Stater Bros. Charities and the local Stater Bros. store joined the local community at Red Hill Community Park for a check presentation at the league’s closing ceremonies that afternoon.
The Citrus Little League snack bar at Red Hill Community Park was severely damaged when it was set afire during a burglary. In addition to generating funds that allowed the league to hold events for children and maintain the quality of the baseball fields, the snack bar also served as a storage area for equipment, merchandise and many other items that were lost. The league estimated it will cost between $70,000 and $100,000 to repair.

“The well-being of children is near and dear to Stater Bros. Charities’ heart, and Little League helps kids learn about teamwork and sportsmanship while they develop friendships and have fun,” said Nancy Negrette, chairman and president of Stater Bros. Charities.
“We are so happy to have Dr Pepper partner with us to help rebuild something so important to the community’s kids and families.”
