The G.F. Buche Company has promoted Brenda Sangster and Chris McFayden.
Sangster started with the G.F. Buche Company in 2014 with the task of bringing the accounting operations back to the company after being outsourced for years. She started as the controller and quickly became the director of finance. On April 15, she was promoted to chief financial officer.
McFayden is the current chief operating officer. He will continue in his current capacity as COO but has been elected to G.F. Buche Company Board of Directors as VP.
McFayden started in 1996 at age 14 as a carryout at the Gregory Buche Foods location, eventually becoming manager of the Gus Stop in Lake Andes, South Dakota. After a few years, he was promoted to manager of the Buche Foods in Wagner, South Dakota, before moving onto the company leadership team. He has worked nearly every position within the company, resulting in his promotion to VP.
McFayden is the first non-Buche family member on the G.F. Buche Company Board of Directors since the 1930s.
G.F. Buche Company has been in business since 1905 and currently has 25 locations serving 13 communities throughout South Dakota. RF Buche, a fourth generation grocer, serves as president and CEO of the company.
