The 2024 NGA Show, the premier tradeshow for the independent supermarket industry, opened Day 2 on March 11, with nearly 350 exhibitors and sponsors showcasing products and services in the expo hall at the Caesars Forum Convention Center.
With nearly 50 educational sessions and more than 100 speakers discussing the most relevant topics facing food retailers, The NGA Show runs through March 12.
“Show attendees who meet with suppliers and service providers in our exhibition hall have the golden opportunity to explore ways they can collaborate on how to move their businesses and the industry forward,” said Greg Ferrara, NGA president and CEO. “The products, demonstrations, ideas and innovations on display are a testament to the strength of the independent grocery industry.”
The expo hall continues to grow, topping last year’s event with 176 exhibitors brand new to the show. Additionally, many returning exhibitors have significantly increased their display space over last year.
“Day 1 at the NGA show was an incredible experience for Soulful Bee,” said Nick Ozuna, sales partner for the Utah-based first-time show exhibitor.
“We soaked up so much knowledge, were inspired by the innovative spirit and enjoyed connecting with so many people from so many industries. The energy and enthusiasm at the event reaffirmed our commitment to our campaign to bring high-quality, natural CBD products to grocers nationwide. We look forward to the opportunity to be a part of more NGA events in the future. Here’s to many more days of learning, networking and growing together.”
Opening the day’s general session program was “U.S. Retail Hot Buttons: Driving Change and Growth in Retail,” including innovation, automation and connecting with consumers, presented by former Nielsen trend expert and consultant Todd Hale.
Additional general session presentations included Dr. Randy Ross on being “remarkable” – doing business in an extraordinary way – in a session presented by the Women Grocers of America; and IGA President and CEO John Ross on retail media opportunities for independents.
Education theaters on the expo floor offered sessions on BIPOC independent grocers, labor issues, AI, food as medicine and refrigeration upgrades.
Monday’s education breakout topics included results of the latest FMS Solutions financial survey, along with sessions on employee retention, deli trends, connecting with Gen Z, private label, retail media networks, the role of AI in competitive strategy, brand-focused advertising, omnichannel marketing and succession planning.
