NGA Introduces Grocery Guard Outreach Program

In an effort to strengthen its advocacy efforts by establishing precise connections on Capitol Hill, the National Grocers Association has unveiled its Grocery Guard program.

The program is a nationwide network of owners and industry leaders who have volunteered to contact a member of Congress when the independent grocery industry needs to relay the importance of a particular issue impacting the industry.

“The Grocery Guard program will allow us to effectively use the relationships our members have with lawmakers on Capitol Hill,” said Chris Jones, SVP of government relations and counsel.

“NGA members are leaders in their community and know firsthand how federal policies are impacting their business and the customers they serve. Grocery Guard is poised to streamline our members’ connections and enable us to mobilize them for advocating policies that enhance our industry.”

NGA’s Government Relations team will turn to the Grocery Guard when needed. The association will also continue to grow the program until there is an NGA member who can advocate on behalf of every congressional district in the U.S.

NGA’s advocacy efforts connect members of Congress with the grocers they represent. From organizing congressional store tours, to hosting NGA’s Fly-In for Fair Competition, the association ensures that the voice of the independent grocer is heard in Washington, D.C.

NGA members can sign up for the Grocery Guard by filling out this form.
