The Illuminators have named the incoming officers for 2023-24 and have appointed five new board members to its Constellation of Hilites.
Greg Siegel from Idahoan Foods will serve as this year’s headlite and president.
“The Illuminator organization will continue to support our three pillars: first, education with more than $150,000 in scholarships awarded in 2023 through the Illuminator Education Foundation. Second, leadership with opportunities right here in our industry to volunteer in and chair committees and help shape our organization’s future. And lastly, partnering with opportunities to work directly with our customers on networking events, convention rallies, golf tournaments and more to help strengthen member organizations strategic partnerships.”
The incoming tailite and treasurer, who was named at the WAFC Convention in Palm Desert, is Thomas Huls, VP of Chosen Foods.
The rest of the officers include Headlite Siegel; Subriana Pierce of Navigator Sales and Marketing, Sidelite; and Lori Brown of Rosie, an Instacart Company; and Mark Olejnik, Dimmed Headlite now serving as board historian.
These leaders will work with the officers of the WAFC including Paul Gianetto, SVP of sales and merchandising of Raley’s, who has been named WAFC president and chairman; Nancy Lebold, CEO of New Seasons Markets, will serve as VP; Kevin Lovell, SVP of Albertsons Safeway of Northern California, who will serve as treasurer; and Rebecca Calvin, SVP and chief marketing officer, Stater Bros., will be the incoming secretary.
The new board members named at the convention were Taylor Verbeck, Social Sampling; Brendan McAbee, Bimbo Bakeries; Kimberly Yates, Nature’s Bakery; Eric Slabugh, NuCal Foods; and Elizabeth Alvarez-Sell, Ajinomoto Foods.
The Illuminators is an organization of vendors and suppliers dedicated to developing and enhancing key relationships within the grocery industry, providing opportunities for education and leadership and supporting the Illuminators Educational Foundation.
