On May 17, Mansfield Mission Center celebrated a new Mission Market food pantry and a $50,000 donation from the Market Street grocery store team to help fund its operation.
The Mission Market provides free food for hundreds of Mansfield, Texas, area residents each week. The gift has allowed the facility to expand and increase nutritional resources for those in the community who need it most.
“We’re so thankful for our ongoing partnership with Market Street. Since opening in Mansfield in 2018, they’ve been incredibly generous to us and so many other nonprofits in our community,” said Carmin Harris, executive director of Mansfield Mission Center.
“From serving on our board of directors to daily food donations, we wouldn’t be able to serve our community this well without them. With the increasing numbers of our community members experiencing food insecurity, it’s imperative we continue to look for new ways of expanding our services and Market Street is allowing us to do that.”
Mansfield Mission Center is a community-based organization serving families in need since 1979. As the Mansfield community has continued to grow, so has the scale of programs and services it offers.
It is the only free healthcare clinic in South Tarrant County and has integrated lifestyle medicine as part of its primary care practice. The Mansfield Mission Center offers food, health coaching and free memberships within its shared partner facility with Arlington-Mansfield YMCA.
“Mansfield Mission Center is a beacon of hope for so many in our community,” said Robert Bollinger, regional VP for Market Street.
“At Market Street, helping feed our community is at the core of our mission. Being able to partner with amazing organizations like Mansfield Mission Center on projects like the Mission Market allows us to do just that. We are so proud to support this facility as it helps thousands of people every month.”
