Registration is open for the annual International Supermarket Management Class taking place May 1-5 at The Coca-Cola Company headquarters in Atlanta, Georgia.
Hosted by the IGA Coca-Cola Institute, the event is making a return to in-person classes for the first time since 2019 due to COVID-19 safety precautions.
Attendees will join industry experts for this five-day class that blends group activities, online courses and pre- and post-class webinars. The event for supermarket owners, managers and supervisors has been happening for more than 15 years.
“This is an interactive session of expert speakers, a dialogue between peers, merchandising operations marketing, all discussing the challenges you face as a global or domestic retailer so that you can be smarter about running your business,” said IGA CEO John Ross.
IGA Coca-Cola Institute President and CEO Paulo Goelzer recommends all supermarket owners, regional directors, managers, supervisors and high potentials attend the class.
“Anyone considering a career in food retail or is already in the industry can benefit from this learning program,” Goelzer said, adding that the faculty, peer learning and networking provide a multi-level experience.
There will be 24 sessions covering industry best practices and trends on subjects including: leadership, people performance and development, store management and operations, including departments such as produce, meat, bakery and deli, finance, category management, pricing, marketing, e-commerce, sustainability, organics and loss prevention.
