WP Produce, a Miami-based and family-owned grower, packer and shipper of Desbry brand tropical fruits and roots, returns March 2-4 to the annual SEPC Southern Exposure tradeshow and conference in Orlando.
During the expo, WP Produce will showcase its line of tropical fruits and roots sourced from throughout Florida, the Caribbean and Latin America.
“SEPC’s flagship Southern Exposure is a very important show for us, offering the perfect backdrop to introduce our exotic fruit offerings which continue to grow in consumer appeal as shoppers look for more produce variety during their retail shopping experience,” said Desiree Pardo Morales, VP of WP Produce and founder of direct to consumer sister company Tropical Fruit Box.
WP Produce will showcase the Desbry brand of fruits and roots, including its tropical avocado; guava; dragon fruit; manzano bananas; mangos, longan, mamey, star fruit, boniato and sugarcane.
“The one-on-one interactions at SEPC Southern Exposure with existing and new customers allows us to showcase our year-round exotic fruit offerings, complemented with the tools for profitability like our ethylene-eating technology that maintains freshness and increases shelf-life,” said Christopher Gonzalez, VP of sales.
WP Produce has grown into a full-line purveyor of tropical and exotic produce to local and national retailers, offering customer solutions while expanding its commodities lineup, including an organics line. Founder Willy Pardo began selling exotic and tropical produce from the back of his truck in Miami to people who wanted items that were staples of their diets but not always easy to find in grocery stores.
WP Produce is family-owned and -operated with Willy Pardo’s, daughter, Pardo Morales as VP, and his nephew, Gonzalez. The company is focused on the expansion of its Desbry-branded produce, product line diversity aligning with consumer appeal, innovative packaging and development of packing houses in Miami and the Dominican Republic.
During the two-day SEPC event, attendees can visit the WP Produce booth No. 1136 in the Atlantic Hall Silver Sponsor Aisle. Participants can see Desbry Tropical & Exotic Fruits and Roots during “The Prime Directive: Food Waste & Nutrition Insecurity Educational Session 1” , from 8:30 a.m.-9:45 a.m. on March 3.
